FAQ on Animal Reiki

ensize.JPG

Animal Reiki isn't as widespread as Reiki for humans, but that doesn't mean animals don't appreciate it. In fact, animals are often more attuned to and receptive to energy. As the saying goes: "If a dog doesn't like someone, you probably shouldn't either."

Animals can be very sensitive to the energies and intentions around them.

Why animals might need Reiki?

Physical:

  • Reiki can speed up the healing process for injuries and illnesses by enhancing the body's natural ability to heal. It can be used in combination with conventional veterinary treatments.

  • Reiki can ease pain and discomfort in animals with chronic conditions or acute injuries. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive treatment. It does not cause any side effects or additional pain for the animal.

Emotional:

  • Regular Reiki sessions can help resolve behavioral issues like nervousness, reactivity, separation anxiety. Reiki does that by addressing underlying emotional imbalances.

  • Reiki sessions can be effective in calming, reducing anxiety and stress. It can be beneficial especially before/after vet visits or before/after time spent in kennels.

End-of-Life Care:

  • Reiki can offer a peaceful transition for animals nearing the end of their lives. It can be a compassionate and gentle support for your animal and also for yourself.

What happens during a session?

Sessions are conducted in the comfort of the animal's home and include a discussion before and after the treatment to review progress and observations. Remote sessions are also available.

The animal doesn't need to remain still during the session.

The animal guides the session, choosing whether they prefer hands-on contact or to receive treatment from a short distance.

The duration of the session varies based on the animal's needs, typically lasting between 30 and 60 minutes.

During the session, the animal may show signs of relaxation. However, if these signs are not evident, it does not mean that Reiki is ineffective.
